The song actually evolved from a poem written during the first Gulf War. “I was saddened about the mid-east situation, the fighting and, of course, the casualties. Much to my surprise and delight – the poem was published.”
“Over the years, I kept thinking that the poem could possibly evolve into something else; but I was not sure what it could be.”
“During the fall of 2007, I wrote another poem – essentially the same subject matter but this time, the theme also incorporated Christmas. My second poem was also published (Newspapers) during the Christmas holidays. My ego was inflated a bit when newspaper editors encouraged me to keep on writing.”
“After a while, I began to give some thought about turning my poems into song lyrics. My friend, Bob Wayne (), read the poem and felt that the poem could be turned into a song. Best of all, he offered to write and record the music. There was only one problem. My poem (when read) would take 30 seconds. When sung (with verse, refrain, bridge and the chorus), it could possibly take 7 – 10 minutes to sing. Too long! The poem (lyric) had to be cut. (Ouch!)”
“Painfully, ‘my creation’ had to be changed and some of the text reformatted to fit the notes that would soon be put into ‘real music’.”
“Several months later, we had the basis of a song which then lead to a search for the right type of female demo artist and a youth choral group that would sing in the background. Following the search and audition process and after weeks of working the tracks, we finally had a Christmas song that was ready to be marketed.”
“The next step was to work with a graphic artist () that would work with me on artwork that would catch the essence of the song. I believe that the CD cover does just that!” Paul Melograno () was the Webmaster that helped to launch this site.
“Daddy’s Picture” caused positive (and unexpected emotional) reactions when previewed. I was not prepared for real tears (by some of the people listening to the song). It seems that the song brought back memories of lost loved ones or missed holidays when friends and family members were protecting our country in some far away place.”
“A friend, after hearing “Daddy’s Picture,” asked when I would be writing the next piece.” I didn’t have an immediate answer. But, soon after, I started down the path of writing more songs.”
“Following “Daddy’s Picture,” came a “Wedding Song.” (used for wedding favors, give-aways or souvenirs). The song was original written for my son and his bride. But, once again, something unusual happened. Many of the wedding guests were highly complementary of the song. In fact, some of them were in awe. They liked the song so much that they encouraged me to market the song. This took me down a path to start a web business – . Then, there was a and .”
